How it works

From scattered project data to a contractor-specific attention queue.

Hard Hat Radar is designed around the contractor—not the database. You define where you work and what you can do. The system turns source data into a prioritized pursuit workflow.

1. Define the company and territory

A contractor profile can include home base, preferred radius or counties, confirmed capabilities, trades, project types, role preferences, licensing and bonding readiness, and other pursuit gates. The goal is to define the work the company can realistically pursue before evaluating project volume.

2. Monitor relevant public sources

Hard Hat Radar is designed to watch public procurement, plan-room and project-information sources within a contractor's chosen market. Source coverage is a market-by-market capability: the system should say what it monitors and what remains unknown rather than imply universal coverage where none exists.

3. Normalize, match and qualify

Raw project records are not yet opportunity intelligence. Records must be normalized, checked for location and lifecycle, matched to trade and scope, and evaluated against the contractor profile. Unknown qualification requirements should remain unknown instead of being silently treated as qualified.

Example: A drainage job 45 miles away may look like a strong fit on scope and geography, but if mandatory pre-bid attendance or bonding readiness is unresolved, Hard Hat Radar can classify it as VERIFY THEN PURSUE instead of overstating confidence.

4. Build the attention queue

The output is not simply a list sorted by date. It is a pursuit queue designed around action: ACT TODAY, PURSUE NOW, VERIFY FIRST, OPTIONAL, WATCH and lower-priority work. Qualification gates can outrank an otherwise high score.

5. Keep watching important projects

TrackWatch monitors the records and sources that matter, compares the current state with what was previously known, classifies meaningful changes and filters low-value noise before interrupting the contractor.

What makes the system different?

Many construction tools are excellent at aggregating projects. Hard Hat Radar focuses on the next layer: fit, pursuit priority, uncertainty and change significance. The product is built to reduce the amount of manual checking required between finding a project and deciding what to do about it.
